RENTAL AGREEMENT

 

1. After renting, you are responsible for taking good care of the item. You agree to treat each rental item with care and respect. You will be responsible for any loss, destruction, or damage to the product .  Oriental reserves the right to determine whether damage exceeds normal wear and tear limits.

2. You may cancel your reservation at any time before 48h of the rental period. All rental reservations are non-refundable.

3.Once you collect or receive your item, it is deemed to be rented for the agreed period. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund/credit you if you choose not to wear it.

4.The clothes you rent have been worn before and may no longer look like new. All items are thoroughly cleaned and inspected before each rental and our QA team will do their best to correct any issues, but some minor wear and tear on garments remains beyond our control. As a sustainable company, we pride ourselves on reusing these pieces and believe any small imperfections represent the many magical moments the item has experienced. We hope this does not affect your enjoyment of your rental, but please note that The Oriental cannot accept liability for minor wear and tear of items.

5.Late returns are subject to a late fee of $40 per item per day, which is strictly enforced without exception. Our business is based on a schedule and late returns prevent us from having items ready in time for the next tenant. Items shipped back to us are only subject to late fees if they are postmarked later than the agreed date. You will not be charged any late fees due to carrier delays.

6.Do not take items to the dry cleaners. We take care of the dry cleaning and it's included in the rental fee so all you have to do is drop it off at our studio.

7.We ask that you keep all perfumes and tanning lotions away from the rental property as their effects are very strong. If you return a dress with perfume or spray tan stains, our team will spend extra time and effort removing these stains from the dress, so you will be charged an additional fee. If you do decide to get a spray tan, we ask that you do it at least 24 hours (and preferably 48 hours in advance) before wearing your dress.

8.No modifications to items, including the use of temporary hem tape, are allowed. Please do not change your clothes. You will be responsible for any tailoring fees to repair the alterations.

9.All zippers and buttons are tested by our QA team before leaving the studio to ensure they are in proper working order. Unfortunately, any unlikely zipper failure that may occur during your rental is beyond our control and we are unable to issue refunds for zipper issues.

10.Failure to return items will be considered theft and the full retail value will be charged in addition to any rental or late fees paid. We reserve the right to pass these charges to outside collection agencies if necessary.
